What sets us apart from all others more than anything else is that it's been in the family for generations. Quite literally.

Eileen Degnan was a professional dancer in London from the age of 8. She began teaching when her family was very young in 1963 at the original Westerton Hall in Bearsden. She was an active part and Principal of the school until 2012. Her pupils have been successful in both amateur and professional auditions from the very beginning. Pupils have appeared on Opportunity Knocks, Pantomimes, Scottish Ballet, Dance School of Scotland, Ballet West and have danced in London, Paris and all over the world. She was a well respected and revered teacher to both her pupils and fellow dance teachers alike. Her daughter, Julie Wade, took over the school after her death in 2012.

Julie began dancing at the age of 4 at her mother's dance school, with her first exam at the age of 5 and her first performance at the King's Theatre in Glasgow at the age of 10. Julie performed in various productions in Glasgow, appeared in Opportunity Knocks aged 17, and qualified as a dance teacher by the age of 19. She left to work in London and continued to train at the Pineapple Dance Studios and the Laban Centre at the University of London. Since returning to Glasgow, she has gradually increased her teaching responsibilities to fully taking over the school in 2012. Member of the Ballet and Theatre Committee of the Scottish Dance Teachers Alliance.

Katy Wade - Assistant Teacher & Administrator.

Katy began dancing in London at the age of 4, and joined her Grandmother's school from the age of 7. She has trained in Ballet at the Royal Academy of Dance until Grade 6 and continued to study Tap and Modern Jazz with the Scottish Dance Teachers Alliance. Has performed in various dance productions held by the school and started her student teacher training in 2010. Is currently studying for her Dance Teachers examinations.
